All aboard the steam train wedding at the Hallmark Hotel Chester The Queens
It was the wedding of the train fanatics Lucy and Nick
Nick works on the trains so where else could they have their wedding than across the road from Chester train station at the Queens Hotel Chester. The hotel built in 1860 has had many famous guests including Charles Dickens, Cecil Rhodes and Lillie Langtry to name a few.
Lucy was staying in the Hallmark Hotel while Nick was traveling from home where he had the stunning backdrop of Flint Castle for his pictures which literally was a stone's throw from his house. The room at the hotel was stunning with the lovely four-poster bed making an ideal backdrop for hanging the wedding dress. Flowers were provided by my good friend Janet Keegan from https://www.holyroodflowers.co.uk/ whose flowers always look beautiful.
After completing the bridal prep pictures we headed over to St Mary's Church without the walls for the wedding. The weather was perfect with clear blue skies. Lucy looked stunning in her wedding dress as she entered the church. The ceremony was slightly different with the vicar managing to give away an egg timer and a packet of Daz in her speech. There is a first time for everything.
After the ceremony we headed back to the Queens Hotel for the wedding breakfast but there was a surprise for Nick. Across the road, the steam train Tornado 60163 was at the train station on its Mad Hatter tour. Lucy and Nick were both very happy to say the least as we took pictures in fromt on the train,
It wast then time for the wedding breakfast and with the help of the toastmaster Chris everything went to plan. The quests were fully fed and it was now time for a short break before the evening reception. Which again had a train theme with the wedding cake being in the middle of the table with a train track running around the cake.
It was a pleasure being the wedding photographer for Lucy and Nick's wedding they are a lovely couple and have now become good friends as well.
Thank you also to the staff at the hotel who were great to work with on the day.
